Over the past 14 years, Bentley Continental GT has become one of the most successful luxury cars ever. And with a new redesign the question remains: will the third generation Continental GT be as grand as the previous generation? Styling and dimensions are generally the same with subtle updates here and there. The grill is larger, and the LED headlights are updated. The mammoth 22-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires. Outback the oval signatures are seen in the tail lights and exhaust tips.

Under the hood is a 6.0 liter twin turbocharged W-12 engine makes 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft. of torque. 0-60 MPH times clock in at 3.5 seconds and the top speed is 207 MPH. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels. Fuel economy is 18 MPG combined.

Looking good on the outside is one thing but for a Bentley it is all about a luxurious interior. This First Edition model boasts things like duo tone leather and a wood veneer that wraps around the dash. The seats are incredibly plush and comfortable.

It’s time for an almighty Britain vs Germany DRAG RACE!

Mat’s lining up in the Bentley Continental GT, and he’s alongside the awesome BMW M8 Competition!

Now on the face of it, you might think it’ll be a walkover for the Bentley. With a 6-litre twin-turbo W12 under the bonnet, the Continental GT can deliver 660hp and 900Nm of torque. In comparison, the M8 is equipped with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that’s ‘only’ good for 625hp and 750Nm.

However, there’s a key difference between the two. Whereas the BMW tips the scales at 1,900kg, the Bentley weighs in at 2,200kg! So the question is, will that weight difference prove decisive over the quarter-mile?

Believe it or not, this is the new Jaguar XF. It may look like the previous model, as Jaguar seem to be borrowing Audi’s idea of uniformity in design, but noticeable changes have been made if you know where to look. For example the new XF now weighs 190kg less than the previous model thanks to an aluminium body. The previous model also did well to drive buyers towards the British manufacturer and away from German rivals such as the Mercedes E-Class, or Audi A6. So, has the latest update been a successful one? Get all my thoughts now in this 4k review.
