Bentley Continental GT V8 review | Brutal badass or second class citizen?
The Bentley Continental GT as standard comes with a six-litre W12 engine, but, you can now get it with a smaller, but altogether more rumbly, four-litre V8 under the nose. That helps to reduce the weight – unsurprisingly losing two litres and four cylinders of Bentley power means the engine isn’t quite as massive as before. But it also reduces power and torque.

So that begs the question. Does this Bentley Continental GT suddenly become a rumbling, brutal fighting machine when it’s given a sonorous V8 engine, or does the reduction in power make it a but of a weedy second-class citizen? We’ve driven a bright orange one to find out.
